Short Bio

All my life, I have been some kind of artist. I drew and painted from an early age and then, in the 1970s, attended college with a major in painting followed by graduate school in creative writing. At that time, I began designing books for a university press and a career was born, one that I retired from in 2023. I was also a book artist for 15 years and have taught letterpress printing and decorative papers since 2002. The pandemic and my retirement seemed an ideal time to revive my neglected drawing skills by attending figure drawing sessions with models on Zoom. I was gratified to find that, after 40 years absence, I could still draw!
